Dirt Bike Acquired - Sunday, January 22, 2006
Well, I've been talking to this guy about buying this bike for a week or so now and after picking up my bonus check on friday, I was off to Tulsa Oklahoma yesterday to pick up the bike. I got a pretty good deal but what a bear it was making the 510 mile round trip to pick the bike up.
The guy had a huge yard, maybe four or five times the size of a normal city sized yard so he had room for a test run. He was launching nice wheelies and ripping up his yard with a big smile on his face. I took it over and gingerly tip toed around as this bike is a bit of a handful It will take my patience and what I know of throttle control to get used to this bike. But once I get through that I should be able to have a lot of fun on it.
However I have to buy safety gear before I even think of taking it out. In the mean time it does have some maintenance to be done on it. I'm going to change all the fluids and make sure it's all fresh and tidy before I take it out, hopefully in a few weeks. |
